So happy to have found this independent and experienced option to service my 2017 XC90 Volvo. When my service warranty expired I sought out a local shop. Ackerman’s is convenient and knowledgeable. I am happy with the work they’ve done. And I love the experience at drop off where I spoke directly with the owner who gave me a clear and accurate estimate. The classical music, sunny warmth, and smell of brewing coffee didn’t hurt either. Happy to recommend them to others.

Actually enjoyed waiting for my car to be serviced—a new first! A real Berkeley establishment with Semi Freddie biscotti, Peet’s coffee and conversation with Bruce. Enjoyed the personal service.

Ackerman's has been caring for our 15+ y.o. Volvo for about 7 years now, an we are very pleased. Online appointments, good service, clear communication, reasonable prices, and useful advice and referrals when we need to get outside service. And the car keeps on going with few problems.

They are always accommodating with helping me get an appointment. I really like how thorough they are with my car, and most importantly I never feel they are adding unnecessary charges. The service is straightforward and honest.

A huge thank you to Bruce and the crew for taking excellent care of my older Volvo V70! This is the second time that I've visited Ackerman's for service. I have to say that each time I've gone in for service, the courtesy and kindness shown to me by Bruce was/is so much appreciated. I even received a post repair phone call thanking me for bringing my car in to be serviced....and a thank you card in the mail too! This is such a rare occurrence with businesses these days. This politeness shows me that this company cares about its customers and wants to make sure that everything is up to our satisfaction. I can rely on Bruce and his team to fix any future problems that I may have with my Volvo, and feel welcomed in knowing that the service will be exceptional.
